A medley of gypsy jazz melodies played by The Paris Swing Quartet
If you are looking for a gypsy jazz band Somerset for weddings ,functions and parties we would like to introduce you to The Paris Swing Quartet.
We are a professional gypsy jazz band (also known as a gypsy swing band) based in the South West playing in the Hot Club style made famous by Django Reinhardt in Paris in the 1930s and 40s.
Our repertoire includes many of Django's original compositions as well as a wide range of swing standards. The gypsy jazz style covers anything from mellow ballads to exciting swing, and we are happy to provide background music or take centre stage.
We usually perform as a four piece, with double bass, saxophone and two guitars. We always try to tailor our sound to the venue and to the requirements of the occasion, and can play acoustically or with our own amplification; we bring a small back line of two guitar amps and a double bass amp. A larger P.A. can be provided if necessary.
Between us we have many years of professional gigging and we know how important it is for the band to be reliable, punctual and friendly.
Band members play with flair and enthusiasm and are all experienced musicians with a long-standing love of gypsy jazz. We can wear dinner jackets or just smart suits.
