A medley of gypsy jazz melodies played by The Paris Swing Quartet
The Paris Swing Quartet want to help make your day a success. Here are some answers to questions you might ask
What type of events are The Paris Swing Quartet suitable for?
We play at a wide variety of events. Many of them are weddings but the nature of the music makes The Paris Swing Quartet suitable for pretty much any party or function. We have played at product launches, company parties, dinner parties, garden parties and even in shopping centres.
When is a good time for The Paris Swing Quartet to play at my wedding?
This is great music to entertain your guests as they arrive for champagne and canapes. We can also play as you dine. People can (and often do) dance to the music of The Paris Swing Quartet, although we are not a dedicated dance band.
We have a particular favourite tune, would you play it?
If we can we will. It would be helpful if you could give us plenty of notice so that if we don't know the tune already we can find it and arrange it to suit our line up. Use the box on the Enquiries page to give us details.
How much space do you take up?
Imagine four dining room chairs arranged in a loose semi circle. Not much more room than that.
Do you need electricity?
In most cases, yes. Two 13 amp power points near the playing area is great. Three is even better.
How long do you need to set up?
About 30 minutes. We do need to carry cases and amps into the venue and shuffle around a bit while we set up, so you might want to think about how we can set up whilst causing your guests as little disturbance as possible. For instance, you might arrange for us to come in via a separate entrance and not walk through your guests while they are sitting down to eat.
Will it be too loud? Will it be loud enough?
We tailor our sound to the venue and occasion. If required we can play acoustically or with small amplification. We understand that quite often the band is required to provide sophisticated background music where people find it possible to chat to each other as well as listen to us.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the distance we need to travel and how long we are expected to play. For the quartet, a rough guide would be £700 for two one-hour sets.
